-Clocks were invented, letting people keep track of time more easily -Printing Presses where invented. This allowed the books and learning become more accessible to people, leading to more smart, intelligent people. -Civil Service exams became more prevalent. This meant that higher authority was now being chosen on merit, rather than family. This means that better people were leading the dynasty, one of the reasons that the dynasty lasted for such a long time. It is important to note that family was still very important. |
Achievements/Philosophies-Silk Road. This was a trading route that connected China to many other civilazations. Not only did this improve China econemy, it made China more culturally diverse. The Silk Road brought things such as religion and architecture from other civilazations.
-The biggest thing brought to China on the Silk Road was Buddhism. China began to adopt Buddhism more, though they did keep some of the same confucianism teachings. This was a major change in philosophies/religion for China, which started shifting from Confucianism to Buddhism. |
The DownfallThe Tang Dynasty was long lasting and had many great achevments. But like all Dynasties it had mistakes that ultimately led to its downfall. For the Tang it was debt, made by a series of big expensive constructions, a series of lazy, bad leader who didn't add much to anything to China, and a series of rebillions, ultimately leading to the Emperor being poisined, and Zhu Wen taking over and starting a new dynasty, the Later Liang dynasty.
